Knowing that this is what God has called me to do. And, knowing that I am training up the next generation...and wanting to do so in a way that will both honor God, and point others to HIM.
To do what's RIGHT in the eyes of the Lord. To raise my daughter to be a good, honest, hard-working young woman who loves the Lord. To be the best example I can be. To give her all the opportunities for growth that I can.
I was a single mom for the first five years of my daughter's life. It is a pretty overwhelming feeling when you look at that little baby and know that YOU are her only advocate and provider. Initially, my motivation was survival. In time, I realized how much I needed God to help me...and He did. I would say that although I set out to do what's best for my daughter, she ultimately did what's best for my causing me to refocus on my Saviour. Now my motivation has grown into this desire to see her grow and mature in Him...everything else will work out.
I love being a mom. But the song of Mark Schultz - Find Your Wings really motivates me. Beyond love, joy and fun I get from being a mom, I have a "job". To prepare this beautiful person God has given me for the world ahead and a life lived for Him.
