Are you referring to the large communities like mom bloggers or the small communities on individual blogs? I have joined a couple of the large communities and initially I joined thinking that I'd be able to network with some other bloggers and also learn from them. I have learned from them but one of the communities seemed to be all about driving traffic and that just didn't seem authentic to me.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I did pick up some great tips here and there but it's hard for me to keep up with the communities because some are so active and my time online is so limited right now.
As far as the small individual blog communities go, I don't typically join in on those. Once again because of time. The exception would be the Savvy Blogging Community because it has helped me so much but I don't keep up with it. I pop in from time to time, read through the discussions and if it's something I'm interested in I'll browse further. That's pretty much the extent of my participation. I will comment on ocassion but there I pretty much feel everyone else is much more knowledgable than I am.
I'd love to hear other thoughts on the blog communities.
Sometimes, even though I really don't have the time to do a whole lot with them.
ReplyDeleteStopping by via the Friday Hops to say hello. Have a great day!

I join communities, like Allied Moms because I believe it strengthens me not only as a mom, but in my walk with the Lord. Some of the communities I have run across, these moms have very small children. Mine vary in age. So places like Allied Moms, with it's diversity, is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI will join one if it is encouraging and edifying and a way to meet other Christian mommys.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I have not joined any communities. I follow some great blogs, like this one, and will search the other followers' blogs. The main reason I haven't joined a community is the time constraints. I'm afraid I would be on my computer even more! :o) Great questions. Happy Friday! :o)

I do... but I really try to find communities of people that are like-minded & that is hard!!
ReplyDeleteJessica
I did when I first started because I thought that I was supposed to. I joined this one "christian" community and was very disappointed when I realized that most of the posts were based on giveaways and product reviews...not really what I thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteSo instead, I started visiting more blogs and leaving comments. I visit the blogs of other commenters too...it's a great way to find other people who have similar values and interests.
Allied Moms is different than any other community that I have joined before. It is focused on God and child-rearing...so I feel very at home here.
Thanks Kari and Stephanie for creating such a wonderful community of moms and fellow-Christians!
I love communities! They have filled a gap for me regarding friendships. I have found other Moms that struggle with similar issues and found tremendous support and love!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Kari & Stephanie do a great job here!
Keep up the good work!
